Jasmine Blooming vs Agave Americana Blooming

you're missing out. I think they resemble lilac,
as far as olfactory is concerned.

From what I learned today,
when in full bloom the
Agave Americana is very stinky.
I have no experience with the smell
of the agave bloom.










So...Jasmine vs Agave:

I am no botanist, therefore, I will not get technical here.

I am going to, however, provide a couple arguments.

I dated a girl named Jasmine once.
She was as sweet as the flower of her namesake.

Jasmine rice is quite nice, excellent fragrance.
I think I prefer Basmati though.

Jasmine tea is very strong, with excellent health qualities,
typically served in Chinese restaurants.

Agave Americana is not the type that produces tequila,
that is Agave Tequilana, a.k.a. Blue Agave. I love a high grade
Reposado tequila, it is excellent for sipping! Though I haven't done this
in many years, I would sometimes warm some tequila with a touch of honey,
Yum! Very medicinal. However, since I am arguing the Americana variety,
the tequila aspect does not play in this argument.

As I learned just now, wild agave will bloom once every five years or so,
according to wiki. My house-mate tells me they smell very bad
when in full bloom. He learned this from a neighbor.

The shoot that you see in the agave pic grew about 12-15 feet
in a matter of 10 days. It's one of those things, that when in life,
during our hectic schedules, we tend to miss the wonders of nature!
I had not even noticed the shoot of this plant
until it was at least 10 feet tall....Crazy! To the eye,
the agave is wondrous! I call it the alien though.


Looks like an agave shoot he's holding, no? LoL

Like Alien, this plant is deadly, perhaps in more ways than one.
As the lower branches mature, I have to snip off the needle tips.
Kids play in the neighborhood, I'd hate to see one of them be impaled.

You know what? This argument is over!
